Broken Smile

Cheznee had a fight with the blanket chest tonight and the blanket chest won.
7:00 P.M.

These pictures don't do the damage justice.  She has 2 front teeth that are now bent way back and a BIG FAT lip.
(She was running, tripped and fell face first hit her mouth and teeth)
We rushed her to our dentist and had x-rays taken.  They teeth are not fractured and there is no damage to her permanent teeth.  We have to go to a Pediatric Dentist tomorrow to get them fixed (possibly either pulled or moved back out depending on the extent of damage).
*Good news is the dentist made sure that there was a visit to the toy basket!

This girl of ours is one tough cookie!  She was covered in blood and barely cried, just wanted to change her clothes and get a band aid!
10:00 P.M.

Bad news is her lip just keeps getting bigger, she can't eat and they say the pain will be worse by morning.
I wonder how my little princess' smile will change in the next 24 hours.  It breaks my heart.  No matter how hard you try to protect them from harm and injury, you can't stop it all.

Your post brought tears to my eyes... I hope all goes well today at the dentist. Our Chez is a tough cookie. It looks like you might have three kiddo's with out their front teeth....

my 10 yr old daughter had a "battle" with a plastic soda bottle and the bottle won. They splinted her 2 front teeth for 2 weeks...which straightened them out. But the damage to the roots was too significant and now she needs to have a double root canal. There is hope for you though as your daughters roots are still developing and may repair themselves. Keep on top of it, and see the dentist.
